Joint meeting of Pennsylvania Nut Growers Association and the New York Nut Growers Association

The New York Nut Growers Association and the Pennsylvania Nut Growers Association will hold a joint spring meeting at Delaware Valley University, 700 E. Butler Avenue, Doylestown, PA 18901, on Saturday, April 21, 2018, from 9:00 to 3:00. Anyone zealous about growing nut trees is welcome to come. There will be presentations in the morning session on hazelnuts, the nut tree plantings of John W. Hershey, the fruit and nut tree plantings of the Philadelphia Orchard Project, and the help that county and state organization can help the nut tree farmer. We will have demonstrations of grafting in the greenhouse in the afternoon. The registration cost is $12.00 per person and includes breakfast, mid-morning snacks, printed handouts on nut growing, two red oak seedlings, black walnut and butternut seednuts for planting, a sampling of nuts grown in this area, and scionwood. Participants are encouraged to bring nuts and scionwood to share. An all-you-can eat lunch will be available in the cafeteria for $9.00 (including tax), payable in cash or credit card as you enter.

A block of rooms, with two double beds, has been reserved at the Hampton Inn, in near-by Warrington, PA, at the Delaware Valley University corporate rate of $139.00 (plus tax) for Friday, April 20.
